About Marcy

Marcy Toepel was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a special election
on May 18, 2010.  She was re-elected to a full two year term in November of that year and again in 2012, 2014, and 2016.  Marcy was appointed to serve as the Deputy Policy Chair for the House Policy Committee and re-appointed as Deputy Whip.  In 2016, Marcy was elected to house leadership as Majority Caucus Chair. Marcy is the Chair of Rare Disease Caucus.

Prior to her election to the state house, Marcy worked in a number of capacities in private industry before joining the staff of the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts in 1996. Eventually, Marcy was promoted to First Deputy, responsible for the day-to-day administration of the office charged with managing and processing filings related to criminal court proceedings.

In 2006, Marcy was recognized as the Montgomery County Court House Employee of the Year for her dedication and commitment to her professional responsibilities.  In 2008, Marcy was hired as First Deputy to the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds.

A graduate of Boyertown Area High School, Marcy’s commitment to her community extends far beyond her legislative responsibilities.  Marcy has served her community as a PTA member and president, youth sports coach and official and as a member of the Boyertown Area School Board.

Marcy and her husband Mark reside in Douglass Township and are the parents of five children and twelve grandchildren.
